Brief history
he history of Don Bosco High School dates back to 2011, when the initial school project was conceived and initiated by Fr. Lewis Malama and Deacon Jerome Bwalya. The project was established in response to the educational needs of young people, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, within and around St. Paul’s Parish.
The school was officially blessed on 30 July 2012 by Fr. Basanes, who at the time was the Regional Councillor for Africa and Madagascar, in the presence of Fr. George Challisery, the then Provincial of the Zambia-Malawi Province (ZMB).
Following the completion of the initial preparations, Don Bosco High School commenced its academic activities in September 2012. From its inception, the school has remained committed to the Salesian mission of accompanying young people, especially those who are economically and socially disadvantaged, through quality education, guidance, formation, and holistic development.
Inspired by the educational vision of St. John Bosco, the school continues to promote the Salesian Preventive System based on reason, religion, and loving-kindness, seeking to make the school a place where every young person feels welcomed, valued, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential.
